When considering years in existence as a law firm, we are a new but rapidly growing firm. But the age of the current embodiment of our firm does not tell the whole story. For example, James Beusse hired Terry Sanks directly out of law school in 1998 and they have practiced together ever since. Their time together included starting another IP boutique law firm, in 2001, with five other attorneys. For the majority of this prior firm’s history, the firm was managed by either Terry (for nine years) or Jim (during its initial year and formation). Primarily under their leadership, their former firm grew from 7 to 19 attorneys. Also, under Terry’s leadership, their former firm not only became one of the most recognized IP boutique law firms in Florida, but also one of the most racially and gender diverse intellectual property boutique law firms in the country.

Desiring to maintain principals that directly contributed to the success of their prior firm, in 2020, Terry and Jim set out to create a new IP boutique law firm focused on their shared vision that contributed to their prior success.

Today, to meet client needs, the firm expects to expand with the additional, attorneys, patent agents, and other professionals to enhance its concentration in intellectual property law, IP litigation and IP transactions.

With a strong foundation center around ingenuity and integrity, Beusse Sanks intends to provide the same high level of quality service equally to all clients ranging from our multi-national corporate clients to individual inventors or start up companies. We look forward to working together as we assist you in monetizing, protecting, enforcing, and defending your U.S. and international intellectual property rights.
