Liz Broadway Brown co-chairs Alston & Bird’s Health Care Litigation Practice Team and has significant experience defending Fortune 500 companies in multiple industries in complex and high-profile litigation nationwide. Her practice focuses on class action defense, multidistrict litigation, and complex commercial disputes, with particular depth in health care, pharmaceutical, and consumer product litigation.

Liz has represented clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts and arbitration panels across the country in cases involving health care, privacy, ERISA, antitrust, RICO, and numerous state consumer protection and deceptive trade practices act claims. She has achieved significant victories for clients, including defeating class certification in multiple putative nationwide class actions involving ERISA, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and RICO claims. Build a Positive Brand. Be intentional about developing your brand. Build a reputation early-on as someone who is hard-working, detail-oriented, and consistently delivers high-quality work product.

Develop Key Relationships. Recognize that your network and personal “board of directors” are just as important as your substantive legal skills. Prioritize building relationships within your firm and in your community. A solid support system is crucial to succeeding in BigLaw.

Take Initiative. Don’t wait for others to invest in you. Invest in yourself and your career and develop a strategic action plan for accomplishing your goals.
