Description of field of expertise

Dami Oguntade focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Dami earned her J.D. from the University of Arizona, where she received Excellence Achievement Awards, CALI, in both the study of Contract Drafting and Transactional Law Meet Skills. She was part of the student leadership as a representative in the Student Bar Association and the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic. Dami previously served as a law clerk at the Arizona Supreme Court and has prior experience working on international transactions.  

What advice would you offer to new attorneys interested in your field?

Get familiarized with the various types of business entities and acquire at least a basic understanding of corporate finance. Endeavor to have a mentor early on in your career and prioritize firms that have good deal volume as well as a collegial culture.

Dami lives in Dallas with her husband and two amazing daughters.
