Why did you decide to become a NBA-CLS sponsor?

We’re inspired by the NBA-CLS’s mission to increase the diversity of outside and in-house counsel, and their commitment to expanding the pipeline of African Americans entering the legal profession reflects our own purpose. At the core of that purpose—to build better lives and communities—are the values that guide us to be intentional about diversity, equity, and inclusion. And we continue to fight every day for the opportunities we all deserve. So we’re honored to serve as a sponsor of this year’s conference and support the NBA-CLS and the work they do.

Additional Information

Embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion is fundamental to what we stand for—making sure that everyone and every moment matters. We’re inspired by the perspectives and experiences of people from different backgrounds. And we work hard to make sure our teammates, clients, and suppliers reflect the communities we serve.

Because all people and communities should have an equal opportunity to thrive, we’re actively addressing the needs of our communities to help everyone achieve more. We helped establish CornerSquare Community Capital, an innovative nonprofit fund supporting ethnically, racially diverse and women-owned small businesses. We’ve also lent or invested close to $60 billion to low-and moderate-income borrowers since 2020. We partner with more than 400 community organizations and our dedicated Multicultural Banking Office has relationships with more than 600 diverse and multicultural community partners.

Commitment to diversity begins from the inside out. In 2020, we signed PwC’s CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We also joined the Business Coalition for the Equality Act to ensure equal rights for all. We’ve committed to ongoing pay equity reviews and have increased diversity in senior leadership roles from 12% to 15% in two years. Our Board of Directors is 45% racially, ethnically, or gender diverse.

Reimaginging what a bank can do begins with redefining what a work environment can be—one that empowers teammates to learn, grow, and have fulfilling careers. We’ve been named one of Fortune’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” for 2022, a Top 50 employer by Equal Opportunity magazine for 2022 and are ranked on Forbes Magazine’s “Best Employers for New Graduates”, “Best Employers for Diversity”, and “America’s Best Employers” lists for 2022.
