Description of field of expertise

Tyree is an accomplished trial lawyer with almost 40 years of experience specializing in corporate and employment disputes involving class action, multi-plaintiff and single plaintiff matters.  His corporate disputes include litigating restrictive covenant, misappropriation of trade secrets, fair lending and corporate governance claims.  His employment disputes focus largely on defending claims of race, sex, age, disability and sexual orientation discrimination and harassment in federal and state courts around the country with a particular emphasis in California.  More recently, he has defended employers in claims alleging reverse discrimination in violation of state and federal laws, including recent Executive Orders prohibiting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs.  In addition to his litigation practice, Tyree counsels Boards and C-Suite Executives on navigating thorny employment issues such as the aforementioned Executive Orders prohibiting DEI initiatives as well as corporate governance and compliance challenges.  His clients span the financial services, healthcare, government contractor, manufacturing , educational and non-profit sectors.

Final thoughts…

Tyree also is active in the community having served on numerous nonprofit boards as well as serving on the Board of Directors for Georgetown University and Board of Trustees for Bowdoin College.  He has remained committed to the mentoring and development of junior attorneys and pro bono service with his most compelling pro bono work to date involving death penalty litigation in the State of Alabama that is still under advisement by the court.
