What advice would you offer to new attorneys interested in your field?

Labor and employment law is fundamentally about people and relationships. Whether you’re sitting across from union representatives at the bargaining table, counseling clients on sensitive workplace issues, or defending against discrimination claims, you’re dealing with real human dynamics that affect livelihoods and organizational success. Develop thick skin and emotional intelligence in equal measure. Master the technical aspects of the NLRA and federal employment statutes, but remember that successful outcomes often depend on your ability to build trust, communicate effectively, and find creative solutions that serve both legal and business objectives. Seek mentorship, observe seasoned practitioners in action, and don’t be afraid to take on challenging cases that will stretch your skills.

Final thoughts…
